A Supplemental Education Program Made Possible through Title I Funds available through the Horry County School District.
Goals of the Program
1) Provide Additional Services/Instruction to Neglected Youth in our Program in an Effort to Bridge the Gap between public education and individual abilities/circumstances.
2) Raise the GPA's, testing scores, and success rate of youth in the program both academically and vocationally.
How It Works
The program is a four day per week program offering 2 -2 1/2 hours at each session to youth identified as at-risk for failure. Students are mandated to participate in the program for a minimum of 2 sessions per week and their academic progress is monitored and testing scores are tracked using a pre and post curriculum based test. The sessions are taught by educators who have experience working with children specifically who have developmental delays and/or personal hardships. Componenets of the program include math, english, and transitional services. Focusing on these subjects enables the students to demonstrate and improve upon their abilities in those courses mandated for graduation and which are applied regularly during day to day life.
